River Cree Resort & Casino, Enoch
This page covers River Cree Resort & Casino, a First Nation-owned resort on Enoch Cree Nation land directly west of Edmonton. It sets out who owns it, what the gaming floor and hotel hold, and what to sort out before you go. Opening hours for the casino floor and live tables are in the "Plan your visit" table beside the map. Holiday hours can differ, so check with the venue before setting out.

Location, Owner and Type of Venue
River Cree Resort & Casino stands on Enoch Cree Nation land, directly west of Edmonton. It sits south of Whitemud Drive and west of Winterburn Road, on the northeast corner of the reserve. The street address is 300 East Lapotac Blvd, Enoch, AB T7X 3Y3. The resort opened in October 2006 as a casino, hotel and sports complex worth roughly $180 million.
Ownership changed in stages. The resort opened as a partnership, and Enoch Cree Nation bought out Paragon Gaming in 2014. A second buyout, of Marriott Hotels in 2018, left the Nation as sole owner. That makes River Cree a First Nations casino, listed in the Edmonton area section of this guide. Under Alberta's model, 40% of revenue from the government-owned slot machines at First Nations casinos goes to the First Nations Development Fund, with three-quarters shared among host Nations, Enoch included.
On the Floor and Around It
- Slots and tables: the venue lists 1,665 slot machines, 10 VLTs and 46 table games. A VLT is a video lottery terminal, and table games are card or dice games run by a live dealer.
- Most of the gaming sits on a smoke-free main floor. Embers, by the north entrance, is a separate smoke-friendly gaming area.
- Racing: the guide lists no racing or off-track betting for River Cree, which means wagering on horse races run elsewhere.
- Food: restaurants are among the resort's non-gaming areas. Canada's first Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen arrived in September 2026.
- Hotel and events: the 249-room hotel has 11 suites, a pool, a whirlpool and a fitness centre. Rinks, The Venue for community events and a gift shop selling Indigenous artwork round out the resort.
- Loyalty: River Cree runs its own free Players Club, a loyalty card whose points convert to River Cree Bucks. The resort also takes part in Winner's Edge, AGLC's province-wide program.
Before You Go
You must be 18 or older to gamble in Alberta. Staff check valid government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25. Since July 29, 2024, minors with an adult may use non-gaming areas such as rinks and restaurants. They stay out of all gaming areas, and River Cree shows remain 18+.
No ETS bus or LRT reaches River Cree, because Edmonton Transit Service runs only within the city and to the airport. Driving, a taxi or rideshare, or the casino's own shuttle from West Edmonton Mall are the realistic options. Opening hours for the casino floor and live tables are in the "Plan your visit" table beside the map. Holiday hours can differ, so check with the venue before setting out. For addresses, phones and games, the AGLC directory at aglc.ca/gaming/casinos/find-casino-rec also helps.
