Starlight Casino at West Edmonton Mall
This page covers Starlight Casino Edmonton, the casino inside West Edmonton Mall. It shows where the door is and what sits on the gaming floor. It also lists the restaurants named at the 2018 reopening and how to arrive by bus or car. Opening hours sit in the "Plan your visit" table beside the map, but check with the venue before setting out because holiday hours can differ.

A mall casino with its own door
Starlight Casino Edmonton is a casino on Level 2 of West Edmonton Mall, in the mall's Phase II. It has its own exterior door, Entrance 9, on 90 Avenue between 170 Street and 178 Street. Before the rebrand, this was the Palace Casino.
Gateway announced the rebrand in November 2015 and said the Palace would stay open during the work. It reopened as Starlight in late September 2018, after a $57 million renovation that added more than 300 jobs. The interior, designed by Kasian, follows a cosmic theme across two levels. Within this guide, Starlight sits on the Edmonton area page, one of 30 venues listed on this site.
On the floor and around it
- Slot machines here are coinless, running on ticket in, ticket out: the machine prints a paper ticket for your balance instead of paying coins. A separate high-limit area for larger bets, the Starlight Room, is described as recently opened.
- Table games were part of the 2018 reopening, when the casino was reported to have 40 gaming tables and 768 slot machines. This guide does not list a poker room for Starlight.
- Replay Arena is an electronic table-game area, where table games are played on screens at individual stations. Its 18 play stations offer baccarat, blackjack, craps, roulette and sic bo.
- Food and drink named at the reopening were Match Eatery & Public House, The Buffet, CHOW Lucky Noodle Bar and Nova Bar. Halley's Club was also listed.
- The loyalty card is Winner's Edge, AGLC's province-wide program. Points come from carded play, meaning play recorded on your card. Sign-up is at Guest Services, at a Winner's Edge kiosk or online.
Before you go
Entry is for adults 18 or older. Staff must check valid government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25. The casino names lots 9-A, 9-B, 9-C and 9-D at Entrance 9 as its preferred parking. No fee is published for those lots. Entrance 9 is not on the mall's list of DATS stops, which includes Entrances 8, 32, 48, 50, 52 and 58.
Bus riders use the West Edmonton Mall Transit Centre. That is the same avenue as Entrance 9. Routes 2, 4 and 7 run frequently, and Route 7 and the 900X Super Express reach downtown. There is no LRT to the mall yet. Opening hours are in the "Plan your visit" table beside the map, but holiday hours can differ, so check the casino's own page before setting out.
